Supervise all aspects of pbs.org/nbr, including everything from long-term strategic planning to daily content updates. Regularly review site functionality and analytics and report conclusions to senior management. Build project timelines and budgets and write grant proposals.  Propose technology acquisitions and personnel additions.  Train and direct other members of the web staff.  Coordinate the development and launch of new site features and products by liaising with developers, graphic designers, server administrators, and other stakeholders.  Create and update series and specials subsites that combine text, graphic, and video elements.  Manage all online video, podcast, and blog content. Build digital graphics and Flash elements. Manage NBR's social media and digital marketing presence.

Selected Accomplishments:
  • Developed a budget for a $170,000 grant-funded web project focused on the economy and personal finance. Oversaw the project from concept through planning, production, and launch. Continue to manage it, and have learned the grantor thinks it one of the most successful digital projects funded in the fiscal year.
  • Refreshed the look of NBR's website and resolved some of its Search Engine Optimization (SEO) issues in early 2010. These changes will extend the life of the site until resources are available for a complete redesign.
  • Spearheaded the development of video and blog widgets for some of NBR's top content, including user generated personal finance video. Worked with contracted developer to establish project parameters, approve wireframes, finalize graphic elements, and test functionality. Also created a social media/viral marketing plan to spread the word about these widgets.
  • Created the Get Your Finances Ready for Retirement subsite, a content-rich section that has become a trusted resource for retirement planning.

Joined WDTV after earning undergraduate degrees and immediately began shooting, writing, editing, and presenting stories. Ancillary duties included publishing stories on the station's website.
